In December, 2000, I offered an evening workshop in the Chicago area just for public speakers.
If you were there, you'll remember the exciting dialogue that took place.
It made me realize that speakers, as a group, are hungry for information
that will help them use storytelling effectively in their work.
The next day, I led a small-group coaching session for 8 more
speakers. Working with them convinced me that speakers are aware of
their need for storytelling skills - but have had few opportunities
to receive thorough, practical information about storytelling
techniques. Or to receive coaching that is both incisive and directed
at bringing out their natural storytelling styles.
I'm coming back to Chicago to offer a one-day coaching workshop - just for speakers.
Saturday, August 4, I'll share and demonstrate the techniques speakers need,
in order to use storytelling effectively and naturally in presentations.
In particular, this workshop will:
Allow a few people to be coached in front of the group. Being coached with a group of listeners is more powerful than one-on-one coaching - and everyone learns from watching the progress of others. (The first 4 to sign up for being coached will be guaranteed coaching time. The next 4 will be coached if time allows. Up to 12 others can sign up to participate in all other ways.)
Make use of video: those coached will receive a video of their sessions, and EVERYONE will receive a "highlights video" of the workshop.
Systematically cover the storytelling subjects of greatest interest to public speakers.
Give you what YOU need to take your storytelling to the next level.
Be limited to 20 participants.
Please note: if you pay in full by July 25, you save $40!
I hope to see you on Saturday, August 4! Complete information is below.
The fruits of our efforts on August 4th will live on as part of the first
comprehensive storytelling toolkit for speakers!
In the fall of 2001, I will be putting together our video tape, along with
audio tapes, and written materials, so that speakers everywhere can
follow NSA-IL's lead in taking stories to the next level.
I invite you to join us August 4th and be a part of a very special day, and
watch for the toolkit, coming this fall.
Here are the details for August 4th:

"Most enjoyable -- and beneficial" -- John Blumberg, Keynote Concepts, Inc.
You know how important stories are in reaching people:
What if your stories could become even more powerful and captivating?
What if they could telegraph your message more effectively and help create the positive results you're working toward?
What if your best story has yet to be told?
In this one-day coaching workshop with the country's foremost storytelling educator and coach, you will learn everything you need to know to make your stories touch people with your message. The entire day's workshop will be videotaped and all participants will receive a tape of the day's highlights.
There are two ways to participate:
Be coached individually - $179.00
Four to eight people will be coached individually by Doug, as they tell a story of their own choosing. You will receive the taped segment of your coaching session, in addition to the Highlights tape, which all participants receive.
Be a group participant - $139.00
Up to 12 others will participate in all the group coaching activities and receive the Highlights tape, which captures the most essential learning of the workshop.
And, if you register on or before July 25, 2001 you'll save $40!
