Hi,
Although Doug Hulen has said that the story is fully in the public domain, I thought it proper to register that I would like to use it for a Lesson Plan, if I may. Needless to say, it is a beautiful story.

Reply to Hannah from Doug Lipman: Doug Hulen submitted his story as part of a contest I ran in eTips from the Storytelling Coach. I chose it as the winner of that month's contest, for stories about imagination!

The story reminds me of the film "It's a Beautiful Life." How do we create beauty and enchant ment in an often stark reality? To create a beautiful life we each have the responsibility to fully except the paradigm of reality we have created and find the blessings within that reality. The man sharing his imagination weaved beauty and "LIGHT" into LIFE. That is our personal power of creation and story-life. To choose a path of heart in our sharing stories, draw in the "LIGHT" of consciousness to lift up and inspire others. That would be my base line VALUE.

Hmm this is an interesting story. I am still not fully comfortable with the "false realities" that storytelling can generate. In this story it was probably a good thing. Can anyone think of a story where the false reality turns out to be a bad thing? (storytelling misused?)
